Vol. 464 No. 6

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Creed

Question:

156 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Justice if she will expedite a dealing (details supplied) in the Land Registry. [8544/96]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49 (i.e. acquisition of the title by virtue of long possession) of the Registration of Title Act, 1964 which was lodged on 15 September 1995. I understand that due to their complicated nature, such dealings take some time to process.

I am further informed that the Land Registry issued queries to the applicant's solicitor on 6 October 1995 and a reply was received on 18 December 1995. Further queries were issued on 19 January 1996 to the applicant's solicitor to which a reply is awaited.

I understand that the dealing will be expedited when the queries are satisfactorily discharged.

John Ellis

Question:

157 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Justice if she will have arrangements made to have the dealings of a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim with the Land Registry completed. [8549/96]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the information furnished is insufficient to trace the matter in the Land Registry.

If the Deputy will let me have any Land Registry reference (folio number, dealing number or date of lodgment) which may be available, I will have further inquires made in the matter.
