Written Answers. - Hydrotherapy Pool Funding.

Seamus Brennan

Question:

89 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Health if his Department has completed its consideration of a proposal from St. Joseph's Rehabilitation Unit, Harold's Cross, Dublin 6, for the provision of a new hydrotherapy facility as stated in his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 76 of 31 May 1995; if he will confirm his Department's acceptance of the joint funding arrangement; whether the local funding will be matched by Department and/or national lottery funds; his views on the need for this facility; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8626/96]

, Limerick East): A capital grant of £180,000 was allocated to Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross on 12 July 1995 as a contribution towards the cost of the new hydrotherapy pool for St. Joseph's Rehabilitation Unit. The grant was made on the understanding that the funds provided by my Department would be matched by funds raised by Our Lady's Hospice to meet the total costs involved. Work on the hydrotherapy pool is scheduled to be completed by mid-May 1996.
