Vol. 464 No. 7

Written Answers. - FESAT Meeting.

Brendan Kenneally

Question:

16 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Health the plans, if any, he has to formally welcome FESAT, the European Foundation of Drug Helplines, when they meet in Dublin on 26 September 1996, during the Irish Presidency of the EU; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7971/96]

, Limerick East): I received an invitation from Waterford Drug Helpline on Wednesday, 24 April last to officially welcome FESAT on the occasion of its three day meeting in Dublin, which commences on 26 September 1996.

At this stage I am unable to give a firm commitment to either meet, or officially welcome this group. I would point out that, in addition to my normal duties, as President of the Health Council during the Irish Presidency of the European Union, I will have a substantial number of commitments and this will inevitably curtail my ability to meet all of those who request me to do so. I will, however, respond to the request from FESAT in the coming weeks.
