Vol. 464 No. 7

Written Answers. - Post-Polio Syndrome.

Batt O'Keeffe

Question:

24 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health if he intends to make special arrangements for those suffering from post-polio syndrome or LEP, late effects of polio. [5995/96]

, Limerick East): I am aware of the condition post-polio syndrome and its effects. Sufferers are entitled to apply for assistance under a wide range of schemes which are available to all people with disabilities. In view of the services available to people with post-polio syndrome, I do not consider it necessary to make special arrangements for them.
