Question:37 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for the Environment the current position regarding the provision of a sewerage scheme for the Ballincar area of County Sligo. [8944/96]
Written Answers. - Ballincar (Sligo) Sewerage Scheme.
The Ballincar sewerage scheme is included in the Sligo Bay wastewater management scheme, of which stage 1 (the planning and design phase of a waste water collection and treatment system for Sligo town) has been approved for Cohesion Fund support. Pending decisions by the European Commission about further stages of the scheme, and having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to advance the Ballincar proposal.
