Vol. 465 No. 1

Written Answers. - Cherry Orchard (Dublin) School.

Brian Lenihan

Question:

132 Mr. Lenihan asked the Minister for Education the proposals, if any, she has for the establishment of a primary school in the Cherry Orchard district of Dublin 20; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9026/96]

As I indicated to the House on 6 March last, I have arranged that the Cherry Orchard project be included in the primary schools building programme for 1996 and it will be progressed as quickly as possible within that programme.

I expect that confirmation as to the school patron will be received in the in the near future and the acquisition of a site for the school can then be put in hands. At this early stage, it is not possible to say when precisely the school will be completed.
