Vol. 465 No. 1

Written Answers. - Mayo School Bus Service.

Michael Ring

Question:

136 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education if she will have arrangements made to change the pick-up point for a school bus (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that it will not cause any inconvenience to her Department or to Bus Éireann and will improve matters for the students involved. [9030/96]

The students referred to by the Deputy who are offering for transport on this service are entitled to catchment boundary transport only, from the existing pick-up point. They avail of school transport subject to there being spare accommodation available, and provided that no additional State cost is incurred. It is a matter for the students to make their own arrangements to get to the catchment boundary pick-up point in order to avail of this service.

Accordingly, I do not propose to alter the present arrangements.
