Vol. 465 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Cork School.

Joe Walsh

Question:

150 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Education if she will have arrangements made to have an architect visit a school (details supplied) in County Cork in order that an assessment can be made of the dangerous condition of the school and an immediate programme of necessary improvements put in train. [9259/96]

The board of management of this school have made applications to my Department for grant aid in respect of roof and window repair. The building unit's technical staff have examined the consultant architect's report in respect of these workers and the school authority have been requested to supply additional information in order for this application to be considered further.

Upon receipt of this information, my Department's senior architect may consider it necessary to visit the school.
