156 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education, in relation to the third level maintenance grant scheme, if she will alter the current system and provide an additional allowance for students living in Dublin in view of the higher cost of living, particularly accommodation, in the Dublin region. I have no plans to provide an additional allowance for the categories of student referred to by the Deputy. I have, however, provided for an increase of 5 per cent in the maintenance grant in the 1996 student support schemes.
