I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Shortall — the need to tackle illegal drug dealers by establishing a special unit involving the Garda Síochána, the Revenue Commissioners and the Department of Social Welfare; (2) Deputy Hugh Byrne — the policy implications for the Department of Agriculture arising from the cessation of research, which was specifically dedicated to organic farming, at the State's only research facility for organic farming; (3) Deputy Brendan Smith — the need to approve the proposal by Cavan County Council to provide a new branch library at Cootehill; (4) Deputy Cullen — public concern regarding the proposed location of the new sewage treatment plant at Tramore, County Waterford, and the insistence of the Department of the Environment on the location despite deep concern expressed by the Department of the Marine; (5) Deputy Ferris — the need to include the condition known as post-polio syndrome or late effects of polio in the long-term illness scheme administered by the Department of Health and the health boards; (6) Deputy Broughan — the need to re-examine the provision of resources for orthodontic dental care on the north side of Dublin; (7) Deputy Ring — the need to resolve the school transport problem at Newport, County Mayo, by maintaining the current level of service to Westport; (8) Deputy Killeen — the need to address the problems encountered by licensed restaurateurs and others as a result of the ongoing dispute between environmental health officers and the Department of Health; (9) Deputy Hilliard — the weakening of the orthopaedic services at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, County Meath; (10) Deputy McDaid — the need for the appointment by September 1996 of an assistant remedial teacher at Woodland national school, Letterkenny, County Donegal; (11) Deputy Molloy — the circumstances surrounding the proposed disposal of property (details attached) at Newcastle, County Galway, by the National Building Agency and the need to make correspondence and the title deeds of the property available to legal representatives; (12) Deputy Dermot Ahern — the rising unemployment level in the greater Dundalk area; (13) Deputy O'Donoghue — the need for urgent publication by the Minister for Justice of the 1995 report of the Mountjoy Prison Visiting Committee; (14) Deputy Deasy — the need for additional accommodation at St. Declan's Community College, Kilmachthomas, and at Dungarvan Vocational School, County Waterford, in view of the anticipated major additional intake of students in September 1996; (15) Deputy Keaveney — the need to review the student summer job scheme with a view to reintroducing the extra payment to participants whose parents are social welfare recipients, making a general increase in payments for participants on the scheme and opening up the scheme to those who have completed the leaving certificate examination; (16) Deputy O'Leary — the delay in advertising for a contractor to construct the new community school at Rathmore, County Kerry, and the urgent need to commence and complete this project at an early date; (17) Deputy Martin — the need for the Minister for Education to explain her proposals for a new system of whole school inspection; (18) Deputy Lynch — the effects on the work of FÁS community employment schemes of recent changes in the eligibility criteria for such schemes with particular reference to the many arts-based schemes currently in operation and the effects on the employment prospects of those working in the arts; (19) Deputies Joe Walsh and Cowen — the delay in the payment of grants under the control of farmyard pollution grants scheme; (20) Deputy Keogh — the action which the Minister for Education will take to bring about a resolution of the dispute at Trinity College, Dublin, in view of the threat to examinations; (21) Deputy Batt O'Keeffe — the need to provide additional places on the business studies degree course at Cork Regional Technical College.
