Marriages Bill, 1996: First Stage.

I move:

That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to make further provision in relation to notices of intention to marry and, in particular, to ensure the validity of notices to marry furnished prior to 1 August 1996 and marriages celebrated subsequent to the giving of any such notice.

Is the Bill opposed?

Since this is a Private Members' Bill the Second Stage will, under Standing Orders, be taken in Private Members' time.
