Vol. 465 No. 4

Written Answers. - Common Travel Area.

Bertie Ahern

Question:

71 Mr. B. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice whether the continuance of the common travel area has been raised in discussion with her by the British Prime Minister. [7217/96]

The arrangements in place to enable persons to travel between this State and the United Kingdom — the common travel area — without being subject to immigration controls in either country have not been raised by the British Prime Minister in any discussions he has had with the Taoiseach or with me.
