Vol. 465 No. 7

Written Answers. - Job Creation.

James McDaid

Question:

112 Dr. McDaid asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the number of State agencies dealing with job creation who provide funding for all projects associated with job creation; the State agencies involved; and the budget allocated to each. [10588/96]

The number of State agencies involved in providing funding for job creation projects in my Department is 38.

The agencies involved are IDA Ireland (budget £121.419 million), Forbairt (budget £71.925 million), Shannon Development (budget £14.675 million) and the 35 county enterprise boards (budget £19.736 million).

The foregoing figures are as provided for under the 1996 Estimates for my Department and include figures for both current and capital spending.

There are of course other job creating agencies responsible to other Ministers, such as Údarás na Gaeltachta, the Leader companies and the area partnerships.
