Vol. 465 No. 7

Written Answers. - DART Extension.

Seamus Brennan

Question:

132 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications when he expects the EU to formally approve the Greystones DART extension; whether the Government intends to proceed with this project; and the proposals, if any, he has made to the EU Commission in respect of this matter. [10534/96]

I refer to my reply to Question No. 233 of 14 May 1996, in which I indicated that the extension of DART to Greystones is included in a package of public transport investments which is under consideration by the European Commission at present. My Department has been in regular contact with the Commission on this package, including Greystones. I expect the Commission will shortly be in a position to finalise its considerastion of the package.
