Question:

72 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for the Environment the legislation being considered by his Department. [10585/96]

The Electoral Bill, 1994 and the Malicious Injuries (Repeal of Enactments) Bill, 1996 are already on the Dáil Order Paper. The following legislation is in preparation: the Litter Bill, to extend and improve the law on litter and replace the Litter Act, 1982; the European Parliament Elections Bill, to consolidate and amend the legislation relating to elections to the European Parliament; the Constitution Amendment (Votes for Emigrants) Bill, to allow for the election of three Members of the Seanad by Irish emigrants; the Seanad (Emigrants Representation) Bill, to provide the machinery for the election of three Members of the Seanad by Irish emigrants, subject to the necessary constitutional amendment; the Traveller Accommodation Bill, to amend the Housing and Planning Acts to secure implementation of the Government strategy on traveller accommodation; the Dublin Docklands Development Authority Bill, to establish a new Dublin Development Authority incorporating the Custom House Docks Development Authority.
