Vol. 466 No. 2

Written Answers. - Urlingford (Kilkenny) Drugs Seizure.

Tom Kitt

Question:

116 Mr. T. Kitt asked the Minister for Justice the Department or organisation that paid for the surveillance boat which went from Howth, County Dublin, to Castletownbere, County Cork in relation to the drugs seizure at Urlingford, County Kilkenny in December 1995; and the Department or organisation that paid for the truck and trailer involved. [11224/96]

It would be contrary to long established practice of successive Ministers and contrary to the interest of crime prevention and detection to give any details of operational investigations.

I do not propose to depart from this practice.
