Dáil Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 29 May 1996

Vol. 466 No. 2

Request to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 30.

Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a notice of motion under Standing Order 30 from Deputy Killeen. I call Deputy Killeen to state the matter of which he has given notice to me.

I seek the Adjournment of Dáil Éireann under Standing Order 30 to debate the following matter: the placing by the Government of the contract for the hire of an executive jet with a UK company, Hunting Aviation, which neither owns nor operates such aircraft, the accommodation of Hunting Aviation on terms more favourable than those on offer to other tenderers, including an Irish company, and the nature of the business relationship between Hunting Aviation, ExecAir and relevant third parties.

Having considered the matter fully, I do not consider it to be one contemplated by the Standing Order and, therefore, I cannot grant leave to move this motion.
