Vol. 466 No. 4

Written Answers. - All-Irish Second Level School.

Mary Harney

Question:

186 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Education the steps, if any, she has taken to ensure that the site at Tymon Park, Tallaght, Dublin 24, which was purchased by her Department for the building of an all-Irish second-level school, is made available for the construction of this school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11559/96]

The site owned by the Department at Tymon Park, Tallaght, Dublin 24 has been made available as the location on which the proposed new all-Irish post-primary school will be provided. County Dublin vocational education committee have finalised with South Dublin County Council the most suitable site arrangements for the school and are now seeking vacant possession of the site.

The architectural planning is proceeding and it is understood from the vocational education committee that the stage two submission — the outline sketch — will be furnished in the coming weeks. At this early stage of planning, I am not in a position to indicate precisely when consideration of the new school building will commence.
