Vol. 466 No. 4

Written Answers. - Turbary Rights.

Michael Ring

Question:

264 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry whether land not being used for turbary rights can be returned to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [11464/96]

The allocation and extinguishment of turbary rights by the Land Commission are matters reserved by law to the Land Commissioners. Proposals for disposal of the turbary rights over the land in question will be prepared when resources permit and submitted to the commissioners for decision. The interest of the person concerned will be brought to the attention of the commissioners at that time.
