Vol. 466 No. 4

Written Answers. - Reactor Animal Prices.

James Leonard

Question:

265 Mr. Leonard asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if his attention has been drawn to the price per pound being quoted for TB reactor cattle; and the plans, if any, he has to have compensation adjusted in view of this drop in prices. [11472/96]

I am aware of the reduced price being paid by meat plants for reactor animals but this is a matter over which I have no control. The level of compensation to herdowners by way of reactor grants will be reviewed on an ongoing basis by the recently constituted national forum advisory group.
