Vol. 466 No. 4

Written Answers. - Daingean Industrial Reform School.

Charles Flanagan

Question:

130 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the plans, if any, he has for the former Industrial Reform School at Daingean, County Offaly; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11541/96]

The former industrial reform school at Daingean, County Offaly is owned by the Commissioner of Public Works and is currently required by the National Museum of Ireland for the storage of artefacts which comprise the museum's folklife collection.

The question of the future of the Daingean complex will be considered further in the light of decisions to be taken on the relocation for storage and display of the folklife collection, to more suitable premises.
