Vol. 466 No. 7

Written Answers. - Broadmeadow (Dublin) Crossing.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

124 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Environment his views on whether the longer the delay in deciding the out come of the Broadmeadow crossing environmental impact assessment the more difficult it will be to provide an alternative route if the Fingal County Council proposed route is rejected; when a decision is expected in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12355/96]

Before making a decision in this case, I am required to consider the EIS, submissions made in relation to the likely effects on the environment and the report and any recommendations of the inspector who held the inquiry last year. I will make a decision as soon as possible after receipt and consideration of the inspector's report.
