Vol. 466 No. 7

Written Answers. - Defence Forces Apprenticeships.

Noel Dempsey

Question:

173 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Defence if he will reconsider the application of a person for admission to the award of apprenticeships in the Defence Forces in view of the fact that he has discretion on the matter of educational qualifications. [12219/96]

Admission to the competitions for the award of apprenticeships in the Defence Forces is based on applicant's eligibility in accordance with the conditions governing the award of the apprenticeships which are available in advance of the competitions. The Deputy will appreciate that the conditions are of general application and that exceptions cannot be made in individual circumstances.
