Vol. 466 No. 7

Written Answers. - Supply of Drugs.

James McDaid

Question:

71 Dr. McDaid asked the Minister for Health the plans, if any, he has to introduce legislation in respect of drug companies that supply schedule two and three drugs to hospitals in view of recent research showing that unnecessary handling can be detrimental to the health of the handler. [12242/96]

Limerick East): I have no plans to introduce legislation in respect of drug companies that supply schedule two and three drugs to hospitals. Hospital staff have been trained in appropriate health and safety procedures, which include the handling of dangerous drugs and should adhere to these procedures at all times.
