Vol. 467 No. 2

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

Séamus Pattison

Question:

89 Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for Finance the total number of jobs brought to the counties of Carlow, Kilkenny, south Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford in the south east region under the Government's decentralisation programme. [12956/96]

No civil servants have, as yet, relocated to the counties listed. Contracts have, however, been signed for the Kilkenny, phase 2, and the Wexford, Anne Street, projects. The Waterford contract will be signed shortly. The total number of civil servants to relocate under these projects is 550. Further plans involve the transfer of the Employment Protection Agency and part of the Department of Agriculture Food and Forestry to Wexford.
