Vol. 467 No. 5

Written Answers. - Enterprise, Services and Human Resources.

Robert Molloy

Question:

33 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment when he intends publishing his strategy documents on enterprise, services and human resources; and his views on whether they will add to the considerable body of work already in existence on the issues. [13661/96]

Work is at an advanced stage in relation to the preparation of strategy papers on enterprise, services and human resource development and I expect to be able to publish them over the next three to four months.

While it is quite evident, particularly from the figures for employment growth, that the existing policies are working well, our current unemployment situation, the increasingly competitive world marketplace, and the rapid changes taking place in the economy, industry, and in our wider society clearly dictate that the search for new policy ideas must go on. I have every confidence that these new strategy papers will make a considerable contribution to policy-making in each of the important areas concerned.
