Vol. 467 No. 5

Written Answers. - FÁS Complaints Commission.

Peadar Clohessy

Question:

37 Mr. Clohessy asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the arrangements, if any, being made by his Department for the appointment of an independent complaints commission to FÁS, the State Training Agency. [13656/96]

I am glad to be able to advise the Deputy that, following the decision by FÁS to create an independent adjudication system, it expects to appoint a commissioner to implement the new system next October.

The adjudication system will provide for the independent investigation of complaints from FÁS clients who have failed to have their grievances resolved through the normal channels of the organisation.
