Health (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill, 1996 [ Seanad ]: Committee and Final Stages.

SECTION 4.

Limerick East): I move amendment No. 1:

In page 4, lines 45 to 47, to delete subsection (2) and substitute the following:

"(2) The Health Acts, 1947 to 1994, the Health (Amendment) Act, 1996, and this Act may be cited together as the Health Acts, 1947 to 1996, and shall be construed together as one.".

This amendment is of a technical nature and is required to take account of the fact that the Health (Amendment) Act, 1996 was signed by the President into law on Wednesday, 26 June 1996 after the debate in the Seanad and, therefore, we must amend the title and the description of the Bill. It will allow for the proper construction and citation of the Bill when enacted.

Title agreed to.
Bill reported with amendment, received for final consideration and passed.

This Bill which is considered to have been initiated in the Dáil in accordance with Article 20.2.º of the Constitution will be sent to the Seanad.
