Question:

55 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Finance the total of Ireland's gross receipts by way of grants and subsidies from the EU budget for each of the years from 1993 to 1995; the estimated amount for 1996; whether our gross receipts will exceed £8 billion by 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14766/96]

The total of Ireland's gross receipts by way of grants and subsidies from the EU budget for the years 1993 to 1995 is IR£2,245.3 million, IR£1,841.4 million and IR£2,023 million respectively. The estimated amount for 1996 is IR£2,068.9 million.

Our receipts from the Structural and Cohesion Funds up to 1999 are expected to be in line with the commitments in the Community Support Framework 1994-99 and our indicative allocations from the Cohesion Fund.
