Vol. 468 No. 2

Written Answers. - Virginia (Cavan) Fire Station.

Brendan Smith

Question:

101 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for the Environment the progress, it any, that has been made in relation to the provision of a new fire station at Virginia, County Cavan; the current stage of planning of this project; when tenders will be invited; when construction work will commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14818/96]

Cavan County Council's application for approval in principle for a new fire station in Virginia is under consideration in my Department. Having regard to the level of demand under the fire services capital programme, I cannot say at this stage when the project may be allowed to proceed.
