223 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Health if he will give details of any financial settlements or extraordinary severance arrangements entered into with civil servants in his Department or with public servants in State agencies under the aegis of his Department. [15877/96]
Limerick East): Since the appointment of the present Government, and my appointment as Minister for Health in December 1994, there have been no extraordinary severance or early retirement packages obtained by staff in the Department. Severance and early retirement packages are entered into with public servants in State agencies under the aegis of the Department only in exceptional circumstances, and any such packages are in line with the superannuation guidelines applicable to public servants.
