292 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he will bring forward plans to create a car/coach park for visitors to the Botanic Gardens; if the provision of such a facility is under active consideration; if so, if financial provision has been made in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There are plans in place to create a car/coach parking area as part of the development of visitor facilities at the National Botanic Gardens; Work on visitor facilities should commence in the later half of 1997 following completion of the library/herbarium project which is currently in progress. Funding for the works has been secured from the EU Operational Programme for Tourism.
