Written Answers. - Driving Instructors' Register.

Mary Harney

Question:

331 Miss Harney asked the Minister for the Environment the body/organisation which has responsibility for compiling the voluntary register of driving instructors; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15235/96]

The voluntary register of driving instructors is being established by the Driving Instructor Register of Ireland Ltd., with an address at 39-41 Glasnevin Hill, Dublin 9. Arrangements for the register were developed jointly by the two national associations representing motor schools and driving instructors. The registration scheme was formally launched on 18 June 1996.
