Byrne asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the fact that Wexford County Council favours widening the carriageway on Wellington Bridge, County Wexford; if his attention has further been drawn to the damage caused to the superstructure of the existing bridge and the poor condition of the bridge, discovered only when a detailed survey was carried out as a consequence of the collapse of the bridge following a fatal accident; the proposals, if any, he has to repair and widen the bridge; the cost of such proposals; whether he will fund such works; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
