Vol. 468 No. 4

Written Answers. - Sewerage Scheme Grants.

Austin Deasy

Question:

346 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has to raise the upper limit for sewerage scheme grants in small towns and villages in order to include a greater number of small towns and villages. [15471/96]

Under my Department's small scheme programme, each county council is invited to submit two priority schemes or groups of schemes each year, and grant assistance of 75 per cent of the scheme cost, subject to a maximum of £75,000, is made available. The overall budget for the programme if £4 million in 1996. There are no proposals at present to revise the terms of the programme.
