Vol. 468 No. 4

Written Answers. - Psychological Assessment.

Tony Gregory

Question:

452 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education whether her Department will assist a child (details supplied) in Dublin 10 to obtain a psychological assessment in view of the fact that he has been refused access to two local second-level schools in September 1996, has a reading age of seven years and requires the assessment for a place in a special school. [15267/96]

A member of the psychological service of my Department will arrange to carry out a psychological assessment of the young person mentioned in the Deputy's question. The arrangements for this assessment are being made at present. The matter of school placement will be considered after the assessment has been carried out.
