Vol. 468 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Cork School Extension.

Micheál Martin

Question:

455 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education when funds will be made available to enable work to commence on an extension to a post primary school (details supplied) in County Cork. [15282/96]

An extension is currently being planned for the school in question. Architectural planning is proceeding and the project is currently at the developed sketch scheme stage. The design team's submission is being examined by the building unit's technical staff and a response will be conveyed to City of Cork Vocational Education Committee as soon as possible. Funds are being made available this year in respect of design fees. However, the question of providing capital funds for building will not arise until the planning process has been fully completed. Every effort is being made to have the planning of the extension completed as quickly as possible.
