Question:

564 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Justice the number of additional juvenile liaison officers appointed in each of the years from 1992 to 1995 to each Garda district in the country or on a district by district basis. [15012/96]

The allocation of Garda personnel is the responsibility of the Garda authorities.

They have informed me that additional juvenile liaison officers have been appointed as follows:

1992

One Juvenile Officer Supervising Sergeant appointed in Cork.

1993

Nil.

1994

One additional Juvenile Liaison Officer appointed in the “M” (Tallaght) District, Dublin Metropolitan Area.

1995

One additional Juvenile Liaison Officer appointed in the “L” (Ballyfermot) District, Dublin Metropolitan Area.

One additional Juvenile Liaison Officer appointed in the Cork East Division.

One additional Juvenile Officer appointed in the Cork West Division.

One additional Juvenile Liaison officer appointed in the Mayo Division.

One additional Juvenile Liaison officer appointed in the Roscommon/Galway Division.
