Austin Deasy

Question:

581 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Justice the action, if any, she is taking concerning the problems being encountered by prostitutes, as outlined in the Irish Independent on Tuesday, 2 July 1996, based on the study carried out by the Eastern Health Board which revealed disturbing developments since changes in legislation were introduced in 1993. [15149/96]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the full protection of the law is afforded to all citizens, irrespective of occupation. All attacks on prostitutes which are reported to the Garda are fully investigated.
