Vol. 468 No. 4

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Liam Aylward

Question:

619 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Justice if she will have arrangements made to have deeds of land submitted to her Department in relation to a transfer dealing urgently returned to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny or the solicitor acting on his behalf. [15639/96]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that there is a fourth dealing associated with the three dealings referred to by the Deputy. In the case of the three dealings, which were lodged in the Land Registry on dates in 1990 and 1992, it appears that the applicant has been unable to satisfy the Land Registry of entitlement to absolute title to the land in question. The applicant's solicitors have been advised of this and of the possibility of registering possessory title only. There has been no reply to this suggestion from the applicant's solicitors.

Queries regarding the associated dealing were issued to the lodging solicitors on 12 August 1994 to which it appears no replies have been received. The delays, therefore, appear to have resulted from the failure of the applicants' solicitors to reply to the suggestion mentioned and to the queries raised by the Land Registry.
