633 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Justice the number of applications made to the High Court for civil decrees of annulment in each of the years from 1986 to 1995 and in the period 1 January 1996 to 31 July 1996; the number of decrees granted by the High Court and by the Supreme Court on appeal; and the total number of nullity decrees granted in this period. [15681/96]
The statistics sought by the Deputy in so far as they are available are as follows: Court statistics are compiled on the basis of the legal year which runs from 1 August to 31 July.
The information sought by the Deputy in respect of the legal year ending 31 July 1996 will be compiled after the end of the year and I will arrange for them to be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as possible.
