676 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Justice the status of the investigation into the murder of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe and the attempted murder of Detective Garda Ben O'Sullivan; the number of persons who have been and are currently in custody in this regard; and if she will make a statement on the matter. It is not the practice for Ministers for Justice to go into details of individual investigations. However, I am informed by the Garda authorities that the Garda investigation in this case continues to be actively pursued. They also inform me that of the total of 35 persons detained for questioning in the course of the investigation, one is currently in Garda custody and three others are remanded on charges brought before the Special Criminal Court arising from the investigation.
