751 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Social Welfare the total number of applications received under the death grant scheme in respect of each of the past five years; and the annual cost of the scheme. [15694/96]

The information requested by the Deputy in relation to the death grant, which is based on the deceased person's or the spouse's social insurance record, is contained in the attached table.
