801 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the number of applications received under measure 5 of the Small Business Operational Programme; if he will give details of the successful applicants and the amounts approved per applicant on a county by county basis. [15025/96]
Following the placement of advertisements in the national newspapers, 70 applications were received for funding from the European Social Fund under measure 5 of the Small Business Operational Programme. Funding under the measure amounts to £1.857 million and has been allocated to 11 applicants. The successful applicants are listed in the tabular statement which is set out below, together with details of the European Social Fund assistance approved per applicant and per county in which the applicants are based. I should point out to the Deputy that the nature of the projects which have been approved is such that small business throughout the entire country will benefit as a result of this measure.
