Vol. 468 No. 4

Written Answers. - Departmental Properties.

Dermot Ahern

Question:

809 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the buildings and sites in County Louth under the ownership of his Department; the location of these sites; if such sites are currently in use by his Department; if not, the use which will be made of such sites; when it is envisaged to utilise these sites or buildings; the proposals, if any, there are to dispose of these sites or buildings; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15465/96]

The only building or site owned by my Department in County Louth is the Legal Metrology Office in Dundalk. This office is not currently in use. However, when the Metrology Bill, 1996 is passed by the Oireachtas and brought into force by way of a commencement order, this property will then be vested in Forbairt, on the establishment of the new legal metrology service. With the appropriate statutory framework in place, the office will then be brought into use.
