819 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he will give details of any financial settlements or extraordinary severance arrangements entered into with civil servants in his Department or with public servants in State agencies under the aegis of his Department. [15867/96]
Since I became Minister for Enterprise and Employment, no financial settlements or extraordinary arrangements have been entered into with civil servants in my Department. In the same period, extraordinary severance arrangements have been made with two officials in State agencies under the aegis of my Department. I do not consider it appropriate to give details of these arrangements but I am satisfied that the payments made were in the public interest.
