Question:

863 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the percentage breakdown of broadleaf planting by species from 1990 to date. [15429/96]

My Department at present is unable to provide a detail of broadleaf planting by species. However the predominant broadleaf species are ash, oak and sycamore. The proportion of broadleaf planting as a percentage of afforestation in each year 1990-95 for the combined private and public sectors was as follows:
