Written Answers. - Travellers Protection Fund.

Tony Killeen

Question:

938 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the amount that has been paid out of the travellers protection fund since its inception; and the plans, if any, he has in respect of the remaining funds. [15774/96]

The amount of money paid out of the travellers protection fund investment account since its inception in November 1983 to date was £770,730. The travellers protection fund will continue to be available to make good losses or liabilities incurred by customers of licensed tour operators or travel agents to the extent that their bonds are inadequate to meet such losses or liabilities.
