Vol. 468 No. 4

Written Answers. - Sligo-Dublin Air Route.

Declan Bree

Question:

942 Mr. Bree asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the current position regarding the tenders submitted in respect of the Sligo/Dublin route under the Essential Air Services Programme; when a decision will be made in respect of this issue; if his attention has been drawn to the need for a second daily flight from Sligo Airport; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15940/96]

The tendering process for the provision of this service, which includes a second daily flight in summer, has not been completed. I expect to be in a position, however, to award a contract for the route with effect from the end of the current summer schedule.
