Vol. 468 No. 4

Written Answers. - Revocation of Designation Order.

Éamon Ó Cuív

Question:

960 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for the Marine whether an area that has been designated for fishfarming may be de-designated; and if so, the procedure to be followed to make an application in this regard. [15117/96]

Section 54 (6) of the Fisheries Act, 1980 provides that the Minister may revoke a designation order if he is satisfied that it is in the public interest to do so. The Act does not prescribe any specific procedure for such revocation.
